Tomašanci farm

The production of milk on Tomašanci farm is certainly an extremely successful segment of our business. It ranks among the largest individual cattle farms in Croatia and Europe, which also makes it one of the largest producers of first-class milk.

The total volume produced is sold to a longtime partner Vindija, one of the leading food industries.

Tomašanci farm produces raw milk and new breeding material from calves born on the farm, which are used for overhaul of the herd. The whole technological process is connected from calving, through the upbringing of calves, heifers, calving of pregnant heifers and cows, introduction to dairy, to re-insemination and calving, wherewith a new cycle in milk production starts.

Tomašanci farm was purchased in May 2002, extends to 13 ha and employs over 100 employees. The aim of investing funds, that has been achieved, was an expansion and modernization of the farm with the necessary technological investments in order to increase production, improve the quality and control of products on the farm, primarily milk.
The farm capacity, in 10 stables, is about 5,300 heads of livestock.

On the farm there are calves’ pens – facilities intended for breeding calves with a capacity of 2,300 calves – deep-litter and stables for dairy cows and pregnant heifers with a capacity of 3,000 heads – liegen boxes. Also, the farm has a herringbone parlours 2×12 dairy sites with a milking capacity of 120 cows per hour, and milking rotolactator with 40 dairy sites with a milking capacity of 245 cows per hour and lactofreeze tank for cooling and storing milk with a capacity of 42,000 litres. The planned total annual milk production is 28,500,000 litres.
In all facilities, Tomašanci farm has a modern system of fertilization, manipulation and storage of manure, all buildings automatic ventilation, haylofts on an area of 5,813 m², a trench silo with a capacity of 47,000 tons of silage and haylage, and food storage silos in the size of 7,900 m². The farm is equipped with sophisticated equipment to track every throat, both in the facility and on the computers of technologists and veterinarians.
The farm is ISO 9001 certified and the HACCP system was conducted.
In addition, Tomašanci farm d.o.o. is engaged in the production of biogas and fully represents an unique example of rounding off agricultural production based on the principles of Good Agricultural Practice and the Regulation on Protection of Agricultural Land from Pollution. In the near future, rounding up production with an indication of better use of waste heat through mushroom cultivation as well as ecological waste disposal; compost that finds its application in horticulture and the release of excess CO2 into greenhouse production is expected.
The plan is to constantly invest and increase the capacity of the farm and improve equipment and working conditions.
