Biogas
With the construction of the first biogas plant in Croatia right next to the farm in Ivankovo, we started sustainable waste management. In the realization of capital projects of this type for our own and our partners needs we have used our own know-how, taught by the experiences of western European countries, using state-of-the-art technological processes, along with natural and environmentally friendly raw materials. After realizing that the electricity production from biomass is the most environmentally friendly solution for the disposal of surplus manure, we have built biogas plants on other cattle and pig farms. All produced electricity is distributed to HEP. Farm plants are built in accordance with the latest technological achievements, with the purpose of rounding off production processes on the farm, improving the conditions of keeping animals, working environment and environmental protection.
Within Osatina Group 3 biogas plants are currently operating, with a total capacity of 6 MWe / 6 MWt.
Biogas Ivankovo
Osatina’s first biogas plant, and also the first one in Croatia, is located at the dairy farm in Ivankovo (Vukovarsko-srijemska County), and was put into operation in 2009.
The plant has a capacity of 2×1 MWe for the production of electricity and 2×1 MWt for heat energy, which, except for greenhouse needs, is also used in the summer months for the purpose of drying separation.
Biogas Tomašanci
The second biogas plant was put into operation in 2011 at the location of the dairy farm in Tomašanci (Osiječko-baranjska County).
The plant has a capacity of 2×1 MWe for the production of electricity and 2×1 MWt for heat energy, which, except for greenhouse needs, is also used in the summer months for the purpose of drying separation.
Biogas Slašćak
The third biogas plant was put into operation in 2013 on a fattening cattle farm in Viškovci (Osiječko-baranjska County).
In 2017, the capacity of the plant was expanded by commissioning a second engine with a power of 1 MWe /1 MWt.
Currently the plant is, like the first two, with a total capacity of 2×1 MWe of electricity and 2×1 MWt of heat energy, which, in addition to the needs of the plant, is also used for greenhouse heating purposes.
